Holla! Last week in the CCM
Wow. Time needs to slow down. Hope you are all doing well. This week has been another great one. We are only allowed to speak Spanish now, and I love it!! Honestly its a little difficult for me to switch back and forth between Spanish, and English right now. However It is so fun for me to see how my hard work is paying off as my sentences get better, and better. I counted how many words I have learned from everything, and I have learned around 2000 words already!! Now I just got to keep up the hard work. Funnies: this week I went with my companion, and two other sister to the store because one of them needed shampoo. She was going around smelling all the shampoos to find which she liked best. One of them then exploded all over her face, but no worries because the shampoo smelt good. Lol another funny thing is I sleep talk a ton! Last night according to my Hermanas, I said "oh I get that it's difficult to get use to at first". Lol i was dreaming about teaching the word of wisdom I'm pretty sure. Haha Spiritual: this week I had to go back to the doctor again because I'm still sick, so one of the elders in my district gave me a blessing. (No worries though because I got more medicine that should help) Anyways the blessing was super inspired. One amazing thing that I want to share In it was that Heavenly Father, and the Savior were proud of me, and that i am right where I need to be. That was the most touching thing to me that my heavenly father was proud of me. I hope I'm always doing what he wants me to do, and always making him proud. More spiritual: When i think about what my purpose is here as a missionary, many many things come to my head. But one of them is the purpose of the gospel, and why everyone needs it. In preach my gospel it says "The purpose of the gospel is to cleanse people of their sins so they can receive the Savior’s mercy at the day of judgment." Our time here on earth is to obtain eternal salvation, and that is only possible through repentance and our saviors mercy. When I think about what my life would be like without the gospel, it is honestly scary to me. Even simple truths like why we are here and where we are going is such a blessing to know. This Saturday at the park I was talking to this man on this bench about the plan of salvation, and this lady on the bench over heard us talking, and she looked at me with very wide eyes and said "You believe in life after death?!" She was so shocked. I was then able to teach her about the plan of salvation. She told me about how she had only ever believed in death, and you could see/feel the sadness as she talked. I am so grateful that I can share this gospel with others, and help them come unto Christ, and that he let's me be apart of this amazing work. This work is literally for the salvation of souls. 2 Nephi 9:23-24 we all need to be missionaries! I challenge you all to try to a missionary in some way this week. LOVE, Hermana Brantley

Hola,
Time is just flying by here at the CCM. My Spanish is starting to get pretty good. I can teach all my lessons to investigators without struggling that much. We teach twice in the morning and I love it! The spirit is always so strong in all the lessons, and in love how much we get to testify. This week we got a few more elders and sisters which is really exciting. They are all fluent in Spanish which is great for me, because I can practice with them. We also have a few more who are learning Russian. (Anyone who has to learn a language on a mission, I respect so much.) It's lots of work to learn a language, but I love it. Oh and Ladies!!! Let me tell you. Turns out all those young women activities where you learn how to sew are super important!!! I don't know what it is, but everybody here rips so many of their clothes by accident. Everyone comes to me to fix there clothes now, and I have had to fix some of mine as well haha. Being here in Spain makes me think how great America really is and how blessed we all are to live there. We didn't do anything for the Forth of July because I guess it makes some of the Spaniards mad or something. But special thanks to all of those who sent me firework videos. I loved them. Haha (but don't get me wrong Spain is amazing!!!) Today for p-day we went to this huge plaza. It was so beautiful. It was raining SO much. We were all soaked through our coats by the time we got to the metro. They have tons of summer sales going on, so everything is pretty cheap. It's funny how much the elders love to shop. I think they like it more then the hermanas lol. My district is so great as I have all ready told you. We are all working super hard together. The elders in my district are all Zone Leaders and stuff like that, and superrr smart. Most of them are older then us. They help teach me so much. I also convinced my district to start running to and from fútbol, even though it is sooo hot which is lots of fun. Funnies: We have these amazing Portuguese elders here with us (they actually just left) and they are so full of life, and always make me laugh. They don't really speak English, but they can understand my Spanish because its pretty close to Portuguese, so we can kinda talk. Anyway, one of them was trying to compliment me and he kept saying, "I really like your fish" and I just kept saying, "Que???" Anyway, turns out they told him that fish meant dress, and he was trying to say I like your dress in English hahaha. Spiritual: For this week I want to talk lots about the book a Mormon! I have been studying it like crazy and have already finished it once. I am on my second since getting here at the CCM. Many of you already know this, but this book is AMAZING. Please please read it at least 20 minutes a day and I know you will be amazed by the power it brings Into your life. So I was thinking a lot about how there were many many people who protected this record with their life all through out the book of Mormon. SO many have died to preserve it. I was thinking about this and I decided that when I gave out my next book of Mormon, I wanted to give it to someone that would feel the same way about it as they came to know of its truthfulness. I prayed very fervently about this everyday. Not only did I find one, but I found three people who were so so ready for it and you could just see it in them. I'm so grateful for the spirit that led me to them. I am so grateful for the book of Mormon and I know it's true. I hope we can all appreciate that we are blessed with it, and treasure it just as much as them. Love you all!!! Thanks for the letters from everyone! They all help so much!! Also sorry for all The spelling and grammar mistakes. I have zero time. Love, Hermana Brantley |
